SESSION FORMATS

Paper presentations

  • Word Limit: Maximum 300 words (including title and keywords).
  • File Format: MS Word Document (.doc or .docx).
  • Structure: Abstracts must be organized under the following headings: Objectives, Design, Model, Result, and Conclusion.
  • Title Page Requirements: Must include Paper Title, Author(s) Name, Designation, Institutional Affiliation, Mailing Address, Contact Number, and Email ID.
  • Classification: It is mandatory to specify the Theme and Sub-theme upon submission.
  • Time Allocation: Each presenter is allocated 10–15 minutes, inclusive of Q&A.

Panel Presentation

Panels consist of a moderated discussion featuring a maximum of 4 speakers on a specific theme.

  • Submission Structure: The submission must be a single document including:
    1. Panel Overview: A description of the theme and how the speakers' topics interrelate.
    2. Individual Summaries: A brief outline of the specific 10-minute contribution from each of the 4 panelists.
  • Word Limit: The total text (Overview + Individual Summaries) should be within 500 words (MS Word Doc).
  • Title Page: Must include the Panel Title, names of all Panelists and the Chair, their designations, affiliations, and contact details for the lead coordinator.
  • Theme Selection: Specify the Theme and Sub-theme the panel intends to address.

Workshop

Workshops are 75 minute interactive sessions focused on skill-building or practical application.

  • Abstract Structure: The proposal should be arranged according to the following headlines: Introduction/Rationale, Learning Objectives, Target Audience, and Interactive Methodology.
  • Word Limit: Within 300 words of text (MS Word Doc).
  • Title Page: Must include the Workshop Title, Facilitator(s) Name, designation, institution affiliation, mailing address, contact number, and email id.
  • Theme Selection: Specify the Theme and Sub-theme to which the workshop aligns.
  • Requirement: Must include a brief description of the activities or tools you will use to engage participants (e.g., case-work, role-play, or software demo).

Pecha kucha

Pecha Kucha is a high-energy, visual-first presentation style. The format is strictly 20 slides, each shown for exactly 20 seconds, for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

  • Submission Structure: The proposal should be arranged according to the following headlines: Context/Story, The Challenge, The Innovation/Solution, and Key Takeaway.
  • Word Limit: Within 300 words of text (MS Word Doc).
  • Visual Focus: Proposals should clearly describe the visual narrative you intend to build. Since the presentation relies on imagery, outline what kind of images or visual cues will drive your 20 slides.
  • Title Page: Must include the Presentation Title, Author(s) Name, designation, institution affiliation, mailing address, contact number, and email id.
  • Theme Selection: Specify the Theme and Sub-theme to which your idea pertains.

Special Categories for Students & Scholars

1. Student Presentation Track

Open to currently enrolled Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.

1.a. Student Seed Ideas
  • Focus: This track is for nascent research concepts, social innovation proposals, or "work-in-progress" projects.
  • Guideline: Abstracts should follow the standard structure but place heavy emphasis on the Objectives (the "Why") and the Model (the "How"). Results can be "Projected" or "Preliminary."
  • Word Limit: 300 words.
1.b. Best Student Paper Award
  • Focus: Competitive track for high-quality, completed research papers.
  • Guideline: Must follow the full abstract structure (Objectives, Design, Model, Result, Conclusion).
  • Criteria: Selection will be based on the rigor of the methodology and the practical implications for social work.

2. PhD Scholar Track

Open to current PhD candidates or those who have defended their thesis within the last year.

2.a. PhD Best Paper Award
  • Focus: Recognizes advanced research that contributes significantly to social work theory or policy.
  • Guideline: Must follow the full abstract structure.
  • Criteria: Evaluated on the depth of the literature review, sophistication of research design, and the originality of the findings.
2.b. Best PhD Poster Award
  • Focus: A visual showcase of doctoral research.
  • Guideline: Abstracts should follow the standard structure but summarize the visual flow of the poster.
  • Criteria: Judged on the ability to translate complex data into a clear, visually engaging format that is accessible to all conference participants.
